Our Story

Proudly family-owned and operated in Mount Maunganui, Mount Timber Homes was incorporated in 1991 and has been helping Kiwi families bring their homeownership dreams to life for over three decades.

Owners Bob and Kylie remain actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the business, working closely with clients and overseeing projects from concept through to completion. Since the beginning, we have been building homes right here in our Mount Maunganui yard, combining trusted craftsmanship with personalised service.

Over the years, we have built a strong reputation for quality supported by a long-standing team of skilled builders and trusted subcontractors who share our commitment to delivering exceptional homes.   • We include and take of all your building consent work, you may or may not require resource consent depending on your property the size of the house built and what already is on the land.

  • We offer a wide range of thoughtfully designed homes, from compact 50m² layouts through to spacious 160m² homes that can be delivered in a single move. For larger or more customised designs, we also offer a design-and-build service with multi-section homes, professionally joined together on site to create a seamless finished home.

  • We pride ourselves on providing a complete service from planning the design to on-site works and handling the consent process. This ensures our clients have a stress-free and smooth project experience.

  • Our solid timber walls are our signature style, these are stronger and more damage resistant than standard Gib. We also feel this makes the home feel warmer and more connected with nature. We can of course build with Gib if you prefer but additional costs may apply.

  • There are no real limitations to how big we can build. But access and transportation to your site and possible roading restrictions in your area may come into effect.

  • All our homes are built to meet or exceed the latest standards in insulation and heating, with the additional use of our solid timber internal lined walls you gain a warmer home that holds its heat.

  • We service the entire North Island , with some surrounding smaller islands

  • Yes, all our builds come with a 10 year builders guarantee, along with supplier warranties for products used

  • Yes we do, we can design and build any size and style home - our shapes are generally based on transport size restrictions, however often we utilize cranes and homes can be built in separate pieces and joined on site

  • Once consent has been issued, the build timeframe is 12 -14 weeks subject to home size
